The Educator Preparation Program domain is an emerging area where Ed-Fi is being used within higher education to support data and visualization needs within teacher preparation and professional development programs. Come join an active community discussion on these topics to learn what has been done to date and where EPP support will grow in the future.

Ana discussed the history of TPDM/EPDM, what types of data the EPP’s share with states (mandatory reporting), and several use cases where EPDM can help the SEAs and EPP’s collaborate.  Cali discussed the data ownership and sharing issues between EPPs and SEAs and how the TEA implementation will break down some of the data sharing barriers with Texas EPP’s Steven discussed the current development efforts on the EPDM model including EPDM-Core and EPDM-Community and the future plans for the model.

Discussion topics included:

  • Differences between SharedInstance and YearSpecific installations and what it means for the future of EPDM implementations
  • Discussed use of AMT vs. PowerBi built in models vs. the UPD built semantic model for previous versions of TPDM
  • Answered if Ed-Fi supported extensions similar to EPDM.
  • Discussed the Finance model and the evolution of bringing the finance extension into Ed-Fi core.
