Attendees at these sessions will be doing hands-on exercises using the Ed-Fi ODS/API v2.3.

You will need to provide your own laptop, and have two options for meeting the prerequisites for participating in hands-on exercises for these sessions:

  • Option 2:  Plan to connect to a Virtual Machine environment on Azure provided by Ed-Fi Alliance

  • LEA Implementations (202)

Attendees at these sessions will be doing hands-on exercises using the Ed-Fi Cloud ODS/API for Azure, and you will need to provide your own laptop and have access to an Azure tenancy. There are two options for meeting the Azure tenancy prerequisite:

  • Option 1: You can use an existing Azure subscription and login provided you are Co-Owner (Co-Admin is not sufficient)

  • Option 2: You can setup free Azure subscription at portal.azure.com, that provides a $200 credit (you will be owner Global Admin). You can choose to do this ahead of time or wait for the session, where we will answer any questions.

    Note

    Selecting option 2 requires a credit card!

  • Vendors Implementation Models (203)

Attendees at these sessions will be doing hands-on exercises that require a Windows laptop. Additional software prerequisite requirements to follow along with all exercises includes Visual Studio 2015 with Visual Studio 2015 Tools (Preview 2) and the appropriate version (x86 or x64) of the .NET Core 1.0.0 SDK 1.0.0-preview2-003121, Java JDK (which includes the JRE), Scala Build Tool and Postman.

Attendees at this session will be doing hands-on exercises that require a Windows or Mac laptop.
  • Analytics and Visualizations (206)

Attendees at this session will be doing hands-on exercises that require a Windows laptop with PowerBI Desktop.

Additionall prerequisites to follow along with all exercises includes Visual Studio 2015 and going through the Ed-Fi Dashboards Getting Started Guide, Metric Configuration Tool Guide, and the ETL Developers' Guide for code download and developer machine set up.
